Free B&W LR Presets from Silver Shadows 2.

Silver Shadows 2 is finally here and it won’t disappoint. It represents years of refinement since v1 was released. It’s been expanded and revamped from the ground up and I think it will blow you away when you see the efficient high quality silver conversions you can do without leaving LR.

As always, I’ve made up a free sampler pack. This one include 6 great effects from SS2, including the one above that give a small sampling of just how powerful it is. You can download below, no strings attached. When you realize how much you like it, check the full collection. It has over a hundred effects, refined and organized into the ultimate black and white toolkit. Either way head over to the product page for the video of these presets in action.

Enjoy… Gav

  1. I am interested in purchasing Silver Shadows 2
but prefer to download it and not have it shipped
    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    ps the images look fantastic

  2. Hi. I am downloading your free sample, but if I buy the collection, can I install it on my deskstop and laptop?

  3. Hi, Gavin! Thank you for the free download. Would you ever consider putting together a pack of Extreme presets? There are times I just like to go wild with photos of ordinary things, like cans, trees, plants… I enjoy wild colours, extreme blurr, effects around edges. I’m sure Photoshop experts can do these things easily but I only work with Lightroom. I have a folder for effects like 3m and Solarize, some HDR. It would be nice to get something new that perhaps “cartoons” or a brush that streaks these effects where you want them. 🙂 Fun stuff for homemade cards, photos for kids rooms. I could go on.

    1. Thanks Anita. And while I’m more into quality subtle effects overall I do have some extreme ones in my preset collection for good measure. PW3, Silver Shadows, Color Fantasies, all have some BOLD stuff. More on the way though. Gav

  4. Hello. Thanks for offering some Free samples. I have just learned about the presets and have a really basic question!!. Are these SS2 free samples for the Develop Mode? I am assuming they are, but just learned there are presets for several catagories.
    Thank you!

About the Author

Glad you're here.

I'm from WA State USA and started studying photography in 97. I started work as a pro (using that word loosely because I sucked) using film at age 16. I learned fast but was not as easy to find training then. Sometimes I beat my head against the wall until I figured stuff out.

As digital dawned I went all in and got to study with masters like Ken Whitmire. In 09 I founded the Pro Photo Show podcast. I started promoting tone-focused editing. When Lightroom arrived, I started developing tools to make editing and workflow better.

20 years of study and photography around the country earned me a Master of Photography (M.Photog) from PPA. I got to see my workshops and tools featured in publications across the industry. Once I even won the prestigious HotOne award for my "EXposed" light and tone workshop.

Wanting something calmer, I moved to Mexico in 2017. It's a land of magical light. I'm here now exploring light and trying to master my weak areas. I make videos of that for my Youtube channel, sharing what I learn. I hope you'll stick around and be part of Light Hunters Tribe... Gavin
