For Adobe users (that would be most of us) Camera RAW 5.2 is now available. I don’t always post about releases like this, but this has some significance due it’s it’s RAW support for certain newer cameras including.

  • Canon EOS 5D Mark II
  • Canon PowerShot G10
  • Panasonic DMC-LX3

There’s others as well, but a lot of folks will be glad to see that these models are now supported. I expect my LX3 tomorrow, and a 5D MK II… well as soon as it comes (hopefully soon)

There’s are a few more minor updates. John Knack posted some details on his blog. I just wanted to spread the word. Download it for Windows here and Macintosh here.

50d_big.jpg

 * 08.26.08 UPDATE! The 50D is official via Canon’s press release.  Shipping in Oct. Here’s the product page on Canon’s site.

This is yet another Canon rumor, but it does seem to have decent foundation. It seems these pics of the up coming 50D were leaked on Canon’s Japan website. It seems to me that the 40D just came out, but I guess with Canon having now fallen behind Nikon in the game,it stands to reason the whole line will be revamped.

Rumor has it this will be a 15mp body with ISO levels up to 12,800. This makes sense since it would be pitting itself against the Nikon D300.

The world is still waiting on the 5D MK2 (7D), and here we are talking about a EOS 50D. I say their both likely to be released late this summer, to fall. Canon has to make a move soon, but again, just rumors. More on Engadet, and Gizmondo. Thanks to FullMetal in the forums.

EOS 7D, 5D MKII

Those of us in the Canon camp are really really eager for Canon to get some new product out the door to catch up with our Nikon counterparts. The 5D MK II (or 7D) has been in the rumor mill for well over a year, so it stands to reason Canon has to act soon.

Engadget is reporting on it, but there’s not many more details. This box shot could pretty easily be faked. Then again with Photokina just around the corner we would think that Canon would be making some announcements (at least they’d better be) Time will tell.
