Everyone just loves a good rumor! Especially when it involves the predecessor to one of Canon’s newest and most raved about digital slr camera bodies, the 5D. There was a post over at Engaget with possible evidence that the next gen 5D could be announced sooner rather than later. It could be a month from now or even a year from now before this camera gets announced, who knows really (besides the suits at Canon!) This, currently fictional camera, may be worth waiting for if you are looking for a pro Canon slr with features and pricing somewhere between the 40D and the EOS 1D Mark III.
What kinds of new or upgraded features do you hope they build into the new Canon 5D Mark II? Leave your thoughts in a comment.

If it has a higher flash sync speed, I’m sold. Otherwise, I might be looking at a Nikon. 1/200 x-sync sucks!

What about high speed sync Jeff. Up to at least 1/8000 with speedlight flashes. Also I thin canon’s max without HS Sync is 1/250th isn’t it.
A self cleaning sensor I think is a no brainer. I’m sure that will be on all of Canon’s camera going forward as a standard feature. Also wouldn’t mind seeing them go ahead and mold the portrait grip in to the camera so that is one piece. I would however like it to continue using the BP-511/A batteries as I have accumulated a pretty good stash of them and they are interchangeable between my 20D and 30D as well…
Well for those of us who have 5d’s the sensor cleaning will be a huge benefit. Also 16 mega pixels would be nice for fine art not that 12.8 isn’t really good. Sometimes cropping totally transforms what you can get from an already good shot so yea. I like to be able to name my files with BMP for bosman photography, at this point only the 1d’s allow you to do that kind of thing. My 1d mark 3 is in the Canon labs right now getting a little attention from the high speed shutter problem. Although i didn’t notice it in my shots i hadn’t really found myself needing to but i thought hey, i want this camera to work as it is advertised, i spent a lot of money on it!
Higher ISO. Lower noise. Faster frame rate.
