  1. Please accept my comments as constructive criticism. This was probably the worst “Rick Sammon” interview I’ve ever heard. I am not saying Rick was horrible but actually you the Interviewer. First of all Rick sounded uninterested. You were all over the place with the questions and when he would answer your question you would practically finish it off by saying it all over in your words! Kind of like you know it all attitude. Also all the self promotion during the interview was rude (in the beginning and the end). Can you just record all that stuff later?
Now I know that you are a photographer and not a broadcaster or professional “interviewer” but I felt like I had to let you know how I felt about this podcast. I will keep listening; keep up the good work in all you do! Again, please take my comments as constructive criticism, where you can learn from it.

  2. Absolutely I agree with the other guy. You were answering his remarks, the show was supposed to be about Rick Sammon not Seim Effects. Also you stutter way to much. Let the person you interview finish in his or hers own words, just ask the question.

  3. I’m always open to thoughts and I take them seriously. I’m also always trying to improve my broadcast skills. I have to keep the show going and sometimes that means I have to talk too.

As for Seim Effects ads what can I say. Do you call your TV company and complain when they run a commercial. You’re paying for that. PPS has very few commercials and ads plus it’s FREE yet you complain because I try to pay the bills.

About the Author

Glad you're here.

I'm from WA State USA and started studying photography in 97. I started work as a pro (using that word loosely because I sucked) using film at age 16. I learned fast but was not as easy to find training then. Sometimes I beat my head against the wall until I figured stuff out.

As digital dawned I went all in and got to study with masters like Ken Whitmire. In 09 I founded the Pro Photo Show podcast. I started promoting tone-focused editing. When Lightroom arrived, I started developing tools to make editing and workflow better.

20 years of study and photography around the country earned me a Master of Photography (M.Photog) from PPA. I got to see my workshops and tools featured in publications across the industry. Once I even won the prestigious HotOne award for my "EXposed" light and tone workshop.

Wanting something calmer, I moved to Mexico in 2017. It's a land of magical light. I'm here now exploring light and trying to master my weak areas. I make videos of that for my Youtube channel, sharing what I learn. I hope you'll stick around and be part of Light Hunters Tribe... Gavin
