EOS 7D, 5D MKII

Those of us in the Canon camp are really really eager for Canon to get some new product out the door to catch up with our Nikon counterparts. The 5D MK II (or 7D) has been in the rumor mill for well over a year, so it stands to reason Canon has to act soon.

Engadget is reporting on it, but there’s not many more details. This box shot could pretty easily be faked. Then again with Photokina just around the corner we would think that Canon would be making some announcements (at least they’d better be) Time will tell.

Adobe has just realeased Lightroom 2. The ever popular workflow tool for photographers. You can find the press release here.

At $299.00 (99.00 upgrade from V1) Lightroom two is still a Benjamin more than Aperture, but holds the biggest market share to be sure. We’re pretty excited over here. Here’s a list of some of the best new features as outlines on Adobe.

  • Local adjustment brush
  • Enhanced organizational tools
  • Volume management
  • Extensible architecture
  • Multiple monitor support
  • Flexible print package functionality
  • Streamlined Photoshop CS3 integration
  • Enhanced output sharpening
  • 64-bit support for Windows® and Mac OS

I’ve been using beta 2 myself for some time, but will defiantly be getting the full 2.0 release and getting into it. I’m eager to push the limits a but further with my Lightroom Presets We’ll also be talking on the show about it soon.

Updates! Here’s a few articles worth checking out.

Welcome To Oz. A Cinematic Approach to Digital Still Photography

Welcome To OzMost of us have at least heard of Vincent Versace. He’s revered as a master of light by most, and his book is about giving your images that Hollywood fantasy quality using PS.

This thing is loaded with beautiful pictures, and for me that’s a big deal because I get a lot of ideas by seeing what others are doing and adding my own ideas to it. It’s not just images though. It’s chock full of technique and how to, and even includes a DVD that has high res images from the book so you can try them yourself.

As with most of the products I feature in CPOTW, the Amazon reviews speak for it. Check it out here.
