aperture_125_080205.jpgApple has released it’s second version of Aperture which sells for $199. Previous version owners can also upgrade to the new version for $99. If you’ve purchased Aperture 1.5 after January 1st of this year, the upgrade will cost you just $9.95  Aperture 2 page on Apple’s online store.  Go here check out all of the over 100 new features.

It is yet to be determined for sure whether Apple “GOT IT” or not with this round of the product and included basics like develop presets. If they did this could be real competition for Lightroom which will be great. If not it’s basically just a new box that will get them nowhere with most pro’s. From what we can tell we see nothing the indicates any kind of image preset however. Wake up Apple!

Show Notes and links…
Today we discuss bridal and trade shows, and ideas for setting up a great booth including marketing materials, photo presentation and the works. Even if you don’t shoot wedding you’ll get some good tips for doing shows.

DXO is getting bad press about using invasive DRM on Optics Pro 5. Gavin has launched his Lightroom Presets Power Workflow Collection.
The The HDRI Handbook is available available and is full of tips on shooting HDR photography

We also talked about getting inexpensive easels to display your work on, and Gavin like the Economy Folding Easel from Dick Blick Art Supply. It’s a touch over the ten bucks Gavin originally though, but still a great deal.

Dennis’s pick of the week was Professional marketing and selling techniques for wedding photographers.
Gavin’s pick was Collages press printed books for proofing and inexpensive albums.

Lastly here a few few photo’s of a few of my past bridal show setups.

Everyone just loves a good rumor! Especially when it involves the predecessor to one of Canon’s newest and most raved about digital slr camera bodies, the 5D. There was a post over at Engaget with possible evidence that the next gen 5D could be announced sooner rather than later. It could be a month from now or even a year from now before this camera gets announced, who knows really (besides the suits at Canon!) This, currently fictional camera, may be worth waiting for if you are looking for a pro Canon slr with features and pricing somewhere between the 40D and the EOS 1D Mark III.

What kinds of new or upgraded features do you hope they build into the new Canon 5D Mark II? Leave your thoughts in a comment.
