FREE Lightroom Workshop Series – 6+ Hours of Training Videos.

by Gavin Seim: Hey folks. I’ve decided to share some archives and post all the recordings from my LIVE Lightroom Power workshops. These cover nearly every critical facet of Lightroom, in order, from start to finish. Last year I hosted this online series and it went well, so I figured you would enjoy them.

Bear in mind these were live shows, so there’s questions and small interruptions mixed in. If you want faster more structured lessons, check out my studio recorded, LR Ninja Series. It’s chapter divided by topic and polished like my other video collections – Either way, whether you use LR already or are just getting started, you’ll get something from these videos.

I’m adding all five videos below. Also direct links should you want to bookmark them to watch later. Each is about 1.5 hours long. Note, that these were recorded using LR3. But while a few features have changed, the significant tools and concepts behind using LR are the same.

Free LR Workshop – Gavin Seim’s Lightroom Essentials, LIVE

Sometimes mastering basics is the toughest and most foundational part of learning a your software. I do offer a complete LR training series called LR Ninja, but I had this live recording from a webinar I did last year and thought I would share with you all. It’s the complete workshop covering LR Essentials and is about an hour and a half long.

Be aware that since it was live it includes the quick breaks, questions and the like. It was made in LR3 so some minor things are different, but most things work exactly the same. In this workshop we cover Catalogs, Basic Tools, Grid Editing and more. Dive in and enjoy. You can also open it in YT and watch in HD. Start using LR today, or brush up with some new techniques. Gavin Seim’s FREE LR4 Video Editing Presets Pack.

So now that my official preset collections have been updated for Lightroom 4, I’ve had a little more time to experiment with video and what’s possible in LR4.

I’ve also been recording a lot of footage for my new EXposed workshop series and have been utilizing the simple video tools in LR to save me time. So far I’ve been pretty happy with the results.

While we don’t have full develop module control over video, there’s a lot we can do beyond Quick Develop, if settings are placed within presets.

So with that, I’m releasing a sampler pack of presets, each of which will work on video and give a variety of simple but useful effects from quick tonal boosts to bleached color.

This is really a test pack to experiment with what’s possible. If there’s enough interest, I may release a full editing collection for video in the future. Of course these presets can also be applied to still images, but they were designed for video work.

Also note that these are preset for LR4 only as you cannot edit video in earlier versions. OK, here’s the download. If you like what you see, check out my other editing packs and workshop on the homepage. Enjoy… Gav

EXposed Promo Spot – Dorky Jogger

We’ve been on the road more than two months now and I’ve been recording footage for the new EXposed video series. Maybe it’s cabin fever, but we wanted to have some fun, so I’ve been running some b-roll and quick promo spots to hold us over until the real series releases this summer.

I plan to post those along with some more serious info spots as I work towards the final collection that is EXposed, and will indeed be serious. But still with a bit of fun. Behold, Dorky Jogger.
