gavins lightroom presets

I just launched a huge Lightroom presets collection over at seimeffects.com. The set has over 50 cool presets in, covering everything in the workflow process from corrections to sassy creative color effects in a very broad variety.

If your looking for a good set of creative presets then check out power workflow presets. This set has been months in the making and has some killer effects. If you like Lightroom you’ll like Power Workflow, and there’s also a video over there that shows them in action. Check it out.

Update… The issue we were having with the site seem to be resolved. All links should work now. If you have further problems feel free to contact.

Free Lightroom Presets and Capture 1 Styles list
Get my free Natural HDR mini pack here. Natural HDR Lightroom Presets.

The Free Lightroom Presets Directory.

Hey tribe it’s Gavin Seim and it’s 2022. This post was a pretty old list and most of the presets here are for older versions of Lightroom but if you install them they will update and work in the newer version. See my Lightroom presets install videos.

I’m going to start adding new free presets for Lightroom and Photoshop RAW, Free Styles for Capture One, and more to this list and get it up to speed again. I’ll need your help by adding your favorites in the comments so I can curate them.

I’m best known for my carefully formulated Lightroom presets. You’ll find a lot of these paid and fully supported packs here on this site. But many of my packs have free mini versions so you can get some of my best Lightroom presets free. I’ll start the list with those and keep adding more.

The old legacy Lightroom presets list…

You’ve just found the biggest, best-maintained list of free LR presets anywhere. I hunt the web for these, trying to add the best and filter out the dead ends. There’s plenty to browse. And feel free to share your favorites in the comments (freebies only).

LR4 and LR5 Presets: The develop module changed in LR4 and most LR3 presets will not fully function under the new process. As more LR4 presets are becoming available I’ll add to the list. I’ll also note listings that I’ve been able to verify are LR4 Compatible. Non-marked listing may be LR1,2 and 3 only.

There are also loads of freebies (linked below). I’m fanatical about quality and honored that they’ve become so well regarded my peers. OK, now on to the goodies. Oh and if you use Apple Aperture, here’s the free Aperture presets list.

More Free Presets Worth Noting: These may not be large sets but they may have potential…

Other Random Presets: Some of these have obscure links, some with only 1 preset. But if you crave more…

From Fraser Speirs

Partly just because it was there and partly because I feel like I haven’t given it a fair crack of the whip, I spent some time yesterday and today with Adobe Lightroom.

For those who don’t care to read the minutiae, I’ll get to the point: In my opinion, Aperture vs. Lightroom is the same discussion as Canon vs. Nikon. Each has strengths and weaknesses, but it’s not a no-brainer decision either way. You’ll produce good results with both applications, and the real decisions come down to personal preference, and specific features that you may need for a very specific reason.

So, let’s dig in deeper:

Will ten years see adobe standing on a street corner, in the pouring rain with a sign?

adobe_will_program_for_beer2.jpgProbably not, but changes have been big at Adobe in the past year and even before, and not for the better. Adobe support is in the toilet, prices are up, and the competition, though not yet shining bright, is growing.

All we can say for the competition is “Come on in” Adobe is out of touch, and it’s getting worse. We need some good old fashioned product wars to balance out the scales.

Since Adobe purchased Macromedia nearly two years ago things have taken a rapid decline, and it seems that Adobe must be kidding themselves into thinking it won’t catch up with them.

Aside from customer service problems, like long hold times, sending support overseas to people we can barley communicate with, and that have a general lack of interest in our problems Adobe has also introduced heavy DRM (digital rights management) into their products. They just don’t get it do they? You can go online and download an illegal version of any Adobe software you want that will work just fine. Or you can be honest and support Adobe by spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on their products.

So what does adobe do? Adobe in their latest
