gavins lightroom presets

I just launched a huge Lightroom presets collection over at seimeffects.com. The set has over 50 cool presets in, covering everything in the workflow process from corrections to sassy creative color effects in a very broad variety.

If your looking for a good set of creative presets then check out power workflow presets. This set has been months in the making and has some killer effects. If you like Lightroom you’ll like Power Workflow, and there’s also a video over there that shows them in action. Check it out.

Update… The issue we were having with the site seem to be resolved. All links should work now. If you have further problems feel free to contact.

LIGHTROOM

Lightroom users will have to wait a short time for an update. Adobe claims they will have a free update to Lightroom in mid November. So two weeks isn’t a bad wait at all. But if you are a hard core Lightroom user such as myself you will have to wait to put Leopard on your production machine.

The Lightroom Journal, produced by the Lightroom team has posted the following:

The good news is that we’ll be releasing an update in mid-November that will address key compatibility issues. In the interim, the following list describes areas where photographers may encounter problems with Lightroom 1.2 on Leopard:

Partly just because it was there and partly because I feel like I haven’t given it a fair crack of the whip, I spent some time yesterday and today with Adobe Lightroom.

For those who don’t care to read the minutiae, I’ll get to the point: In my opinion, Aperture vs. Lightroom is the same discussion as Canon vs. Nikon. You’ll produce good results with both applications, and the real decisions come down to personal preference, and specific features that you may need for a very specific reason.

So, let’s dig in deeper:

box_lightroom_112×112.jpgUpdates are now available to Lightroom 1.2, and Camera Raw 4.3. The updates provide raw file support for 14 additional camera models and camera backs within Lightroom and Camera Raw, including the Canon EOS 40D.

We don’t know yet if there have been any other features added, but as far as we can tell this is not a huge update like 1.1 turned out to be. We’ll play with it however and keep you posted. Of course you can find out for yourself! You should get the auto updater as soon as you start Lightroom, and be able to get your own update.
