Their finally here. Xclusive Black and White presets for Adobe Lightroom. I’ve been working on these for some time, and I know there’s many of you waiting for them. You can get them right now on the Black and White page. Final price is to be determined but you get get them now for an introductory price of just 25 bucks!

This set ended up being bigger than I expected. With over 35 presets this is the ultimate black and white lightroom preset collection. I designed it similar to Power Workflow in the area of categorizing preset types, and keeping it all tidy. Look forward to hearing your feedback, and of course there’ll be free updates to BW owners as I see ways to improve it.

UPDATED 07/11:
As a photographer I prefer the RAW file format. I find I can get more flexibility in post production, more dynamic range and ultimately a better image quality with less hassle. Having said that, there are plenty of great JPEG photographers.

What’s It All About:

This article is not so much about the which format is better. We’ll save that for another day. The situation in question is editing images in speedy workflow programs such as Lightroom. Lightroom has revolutionized photo workflow because it’s fast and batches are a snap using Develop Presets.

Presets allow you to add effects and settings to images with a single click, or even apply them to countless of images. This is priceless when it comes to a photographers creative workflow. Also this type of editing is non destructive to the photo, meaning that you can make edits, and reset them to original at any time.

Wanted to post up a free preset for everyone today. This is Vintage I, and it’s a neat Lightroom preset to give a nice vintage tone to a photo. There’s actually three vintage presets I just made that will come with my Power Workflow Lightroom Presets.

This a good general purpose vintage, and more than just a saturation reduction. Just start with standard photo and add this for a great vintage effect. I notice that sometimes with darker photo’s it helps to bump the exposure up just a little before you run this. Other cool variations are now included with my entire collection. Note that this preset is now included in the Power Workflow Fantasy Sampler which is also a free presets download.

I just wanted to post an update on my Black & White fine art presets collection for Lightroom. Things are coming along well though I don’t have a specific launch date I do hope to be posting some actual sample images very soon.

I’m so excited about the effects that are coming together as I see Lightroom flex is muscle in a whole new way. This set is like no other effects collection I’ve ever made available and I want it to fulfill our needs as photographers so I don;t want to rush it. Black and white can be a challenge, but this is going to make it a breeze.

I believe you’ll think it well worth the wait, so stay tuned. If you want to be added to the notify list just contact me here… Gav

PS. We should also see a few freebies coming down the pipes from this set!
