It’s the end if the Autumn season and depending on where you are the color maybe turning white. I wanted to close the season with some tips on getting better light in your photos no matter where you are in nature, especially with those Fall colors around the world.

I’m Gavin. and whether you want more control over color or are tired of paying every month, many photographers are looking at Capture One. It’s probably the most powerful RAW-style image editor next to Lightroom and still integrates nicely with Photoshop and other pixel-based editors.
I’ve been making professional presets since the first days of Lightroom and Capture One. My first Capture OJne Styles collection was the Mixology Collection. Thesedays all my presets ionlude Capture One Styles. BUt I made a free 15 presets style pack from MIxogy that you can download and use right away. In 2022 all my preset collections are now available as Styles for Capture One along with Lightroom Presets top go along with this Mixolgy free pack above. For over a decade we’ve made a pack of presets that has been a go-to for photographers. Power Workflow is a do it all pack and we wanted to share some freebies from the latest version, PW6.
This basic presets pack includes 15 killer presets from the PW6 collection and will give you a great mini set for editing any type of image. It includes the new XMP style presets for CC version for Lightroom as well as the older presets format for non CC users. We also released a basic pack for Capture One users, as a lot of photographers are starting to switch away from LR in favor of tools with a little more power or simply to get away from the subscription model. Light does not always work the way we expect, especially in the season of color. In today’s video, we head to the autumn woods of Washington and talk about how to get better images of fall color.
In the end, knowing the tactics of good light like we talk about in Exposed and taking the time to just experiment and study your scene will make all the difference. Then comes the processing. LR has changed up how Presets work in 7.4+. There’s a new preset manager that’s actually pretty good; you can finally hide the presets you don’t want and you can even use your presets in Lightroom Mobile. So I made you two videos to get you up to speed on installing and organizing presets in Lightroom including the latest versions. The changes in 2018 made presets a little confusing so I thought we should simplify.
This first video is a fast look at presets in Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic CC, Lightroom mobile and even Camera Raw.
The longer video is the in-depth look at dealing with presets in all versions including pre CC for those who have held off to go to a subscription model. I get you, though if you never plan to go CC it might be time to look at something like Capture One because LR6 is getting older. We even have a preset pack for Capture One too. Anyways the longer video also covers installing all other kinds of presets like Local Adjustment Brushes.
This may not be terribly exciting, but over the years we’ve tried to make this is fast and simple as possible. Hope it helps — Gav
